Personal:

I used to run competitively, and maybe I will do so again someday.  Right now I am primarily running to try and get in better shape, and to maintain both physical and emotional health, but also for the simple joy that comes when I run.

I am also the proud daddy of five little ones.  I love the opportunity that I have to be a daddy, and my challenge is to balance my family responsibilities with work and running.

I ran with Sasha this morning at Grandview park.  Afterward I ran a few more laps around the field, and then ran home, ran a mile loop near my house, and then ran to Kimia's work to pick up the car.  Total of 15 miles in 1:47:57.  While running with Sasha we picked up the pace for about 2 miles (5 laps) running the last lap in 2:06.

On a side note, which is completely non running related but definitely more exciting than the mundane text that comprises my daily workouts, my wife Kimia is pregnant!  She is due on the 23rd of March, so she is almost 13 weeks along now.  We are excited to be able to finally start our own family.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is so exciting man. Are you wanting a boy or girl?? That is great news.

I would be happy with a boy or a girl. Part of me wants a boy, so I can create my own little world class running machine and then live vicariously through him when he gets older, but on the other hand some of those baby girls are just so darn cute! Anyhow, thanks.

Oh I hear you. Boy or girl can both be great runners. But they are both so cute. I am happy for you and hope the morning sickness will be over soon.:)
