Personal:

I used to run competitively, and maybe I will do so again someday.  Right now I am primarily running to try and get in better shape, and to maintain both physical and emotional health, but also for the simple joy that comes when I run.

I am also the proud daddy of five little ones.  I love the opportunity that I have to be a daddy, and my challenge is to balance my family responsibilities with work and running.

I waited over a week before attempting to run again because of how my knee felt after running last Thursday.  My knee hurt until Sunday, and even walking around at the beginning of this week I felt like there was some sort of inherent instability (although I could just be imagining things because I am paranoid, and worried that I messed up my meniscus when it is likely just a bone bruise).  As a result I waited to try to run at all until today.  I ended up only running a little over a mile, running about a half mile at a time (about 4-5 minutes) just to be safe.  I didn't feel any pain after the very short run, which is good, although my knees still feel a little weird at times when I go up stairs or if I lock my knees during walking.
