Personal:

I used to run competitively, and maybe I will do so again someday.  Right now I am primarily running to try and get in better shape, and to maintain both physical and emotional health, but also for the simple joy that comes when I run.

I am also the proud daddy of five little ones.  I love the opportunity that I have to be a daddy, and my challenge is to balance my family responsibilities with work and running.

I was actually sore on Sunday after running 10 miles on Saturday, which I was not expecting since I only took off one week.  As a result of that, and a test coming up Wednesday that I need to study for I just ran 1.5 miles today, running home from school.

8 miles this morning in 1:04:46 with an average HR of 142.  I can't remember the humidity exactly, but I think that it was somewhere in the 50-60% range.

8 miles in 1:04:21 with an average HR of 136, and humidity around 80%.  I could tell that there was more moisture in the air this morning, and my HR was substantially lower at the beginning of the run than it has been lately (high 120's).  About 3 miles into the run I felt like my throat started to become dry despite the higher humidity, and I also noticed an increase in my HR.  We have a cold air humidifier at home, but I wonder if it might be beneficial for me to buy a warm air humidifier to use when I sleep at night in order to keep my airways moist.
