Personal:

I used to run competitively, and maybe I will do so again someday.  Right now I am primarily running to try and get in better shape, and to maintain both physical and emotional health, but also for the simple joy that comes when I run.

I am also the proud daddy of five little ones.  I love the opportunity that I have to be a daddy, and my challenge is to balance my family responsibilities with work and running.

I ran 11 miles today in just over 1:26:00.  I felt tired near the end of the run and I wonder if I am coming down with something as I have had a sore throat since yesterday.

I ran 11 miles this morning in 1:26:45.  I ran on the golf course again plus I ran through some trails behind the golf course as well which kept my average pace slower than the effort would have indicated.  In the evening I ran the last mile home from school after I initially started walking to give me 12 miles total for the day.

I ran 10 miles today after I finished my final exam for the day.  I forgot to bring my running watch with me, so no time for the run.  After I finished I picked up my things and then ran the extra mile and a half home to finish with 11.5 miles on the day.  During the last few miles of the run I also ran 4 short sprints spread out over about 3 miles.

10 miles this morning in about 1:18:00.  Saw a girl on the ISU cross country team out on a run.  I timed myself while running behind her and figured out she was running somewhere between 6:10-6:20 pace per mile.  It is not often that you will see a girl out on an "easy" run going that fast.
